The Secret to a Free Haircut

Lets face it people, haircuts can get very expensive once you start heading over to salons and regular barber shops such as fantastic Sam's or Supercuts. In my opinion, these places are complete rip offs. An average cut can cost - for a regular adult male. For a female, the numbers can be staggering. For a college student whose poor ass hell, THAT CAN BE A LOT OF MONEY! Well it was for me anyways.

During my freshman and sophomore year of college, my roommates and I decided to start up our own in house barber shop for ourselves. Let me explain in further detail what I'm talking about. Personally, European guys tend to be pretty hairy and I was facing a huge issue that was draining my pockets. Out of anybody I knew, my hair would grow faster then a dog's ass and annually I was spending about 0.

Nevertheless, being an educated broke college student that I was, I decided to let my roommates cut my gorgeous fluffy hair. Keep in mind though, my friends had no clue on how to cut hair. It's as if I gave the task of balancing a check book to a homeless person. This might have been one of the stupidest ideas I have ever decided to go through with. Although, in the long run it actually started to pay off.

My personal appearance was affected dramatically. When it came down to it though, I had more money for beer. The way my roommates and I cut each others hair was completely retarded, but a good learning experience. One month, I would look as if my hair went through a weed whacker and other months, a screwed up crew cut. Probably the most memorable one I ever received was when I decided to let me drunk roommate bick my whole head. Not a smart idea because my head looked lopsided and everyone started calling me "the sloth" from the Goonies.

However, I was saving almost a month and that's all that mattered to me. I didn't care that people couldn't even look at me without laughing or that I would go months without the satisfaction of a female. Well, maybe I kinda did. What I'm trying to get at is if you're a broke student, then you have to sacrifice something's in order to balance out your life. Think for a second like a hobo student and see if you can find ways of doings things that are ridiculously cheap or for free. Furthermore, invest in your friends useless talents and take advantage of them. You never know when an idea can come up that will save you some flow.
