The Fastest Weight Loss Workouts

The trouble with long weekends is that you often return to work busier than ever. Work has piled up over that extra day - possibly from international orders or from work colleagues and business contacts that just don't seem to take time off.

supercuts

So you get back in the office and your inbox is flooded, your to-do list is longer than your grocery shopping list, and your phone displays 10 new messages.

SUPER CUTS

Say good-bye to your workout time? No way.

The truth about exercise is that it is a lot more efficient than most people think. The truth is you don't have to be in the gym for 90, 60, or even 45 minutes per day to get results. The truth is that you can choose just two exercises and train your entire body.

The trick is to choose the right two exercises.

In this situation, the old saying that "80% of your results comes from 20% of your efforts" is quite close to the truth. That's why if you have any of the strength and interval manuals, you'll get the majority of your results simply from the first superset of the workout. (But never skip a proper warm-up.)

Here's a partial list of an almost endless number of effective two exercise workouts. Complete them in superset fashion and you can be done your strength training workout in minutes...saving you valuable time you need to be spending at work or with your family.

1) Bodyweight option #1:

Y-Squat

Pushup (any variation)

2) Bodyweight option #2

Bulgarian Split Squat

Chin-up

3) DB option #1:

DB Romanian Deadlift

DB Chest Press

4) DB option #2 (this is an incredibly tough superset):

DB Split Squat with Front Foot Elevated 6-inches

DB Row

5) DB option Upper Body only

DB Incline Press

DB Row

6) Barbell option #1

Squat

Bentover Row

7) Barbell option #2

Romanian Deadlift

Bench Press

The two exercises in any of these supersets will work better and faster than a 10-machine circuit at any fitness center. Plus, you'll build twice the body of someone that decides to use a shortened workout to "just do abs" or a "quick cardio session". High-rep ab work and short, slow cardio won't help you change your body.

High-intensity, efficient, multi-muscle movements that put your body in turbulence are the only way to go.

50 Ways to Save Money During a Recession

Let's face it. An economic crisis is no time to have money troubles. But, most of us can't help it. We work hard and try to live the life we want. Sometimes the cards are not dealt in our favor. Even if we have picked up some personal finance lessons along the way, we still seem stuck in mud. We have become blind sighted by our current economic crisis, and need to adjust our situation to live as frugally as possible in order to make what we have last.

Now we may not be able to sell our SUV or home in the next month or two, but there are some alternative ideas to help cushion the economic blow to your wallet.

SUPERCUTS PRICES

1 - Buy generic versus brands. Branded items, like Cheerios, Charmin, Christian Dior, are so ingrained in our conscious as superior that we forget that other items exist. Unfortunately, we also forget the impact on our wallets. By starting to buy generic items we can start to see savings of or more on a shop

2 - Rethink entertainment. Instead of buying a piece movie tickets or spending at the video store, consider joining Netflix, where you can download free movies to your computer or get several movies delivered to your door for the cost of less than two movies tickets, or consider other forms of cheap entertainment. a month

3 - Downsize the dinner options. It feels almost luxurious to go out for dinner, knowing others have prepared a delicious meal so you don't have to. And it may seem one meal won't kill you but saving by eating at home or skipping the appetizers or saving on tips with counter service can easily add up to 0 to 0 for the entire month.

4 - Dump cable TV. I have eliminated cable a long time ago, and just rely on Internet service. Not having TV may seem hard at first, but the result has been a life changer for me. I am more creative, like writing this blog, and have more free time to pursue the things I want to do. For of savings a month, I can make it without the boob tube.

5 - Re-examine insurance. While health insurance for some is a must have, there are supplementary insurance you might pay that may not have a pressing need at this moment. Talk to your insurance professional to see what costs can be reduced or eliminated.

6 - Kid's allowance. Don't let them push you around. Yes, you want to give them the best, but in order to genuinely secure a better future for them, determine what is important to them now and what is important to their future.

7 - Electricity. During the summers and winters, this bill can get mighty large. Call your local utility company and ask them what steps you can take to cut your electricity bill. Switching to CFC bulbs (twirly bulbs) is a good start, but more of your electric bill will come from A/C, heat, hot water, the dryer and that new plasma TV you bought.

8 - Credit Cards. You can't stop making credit card payments, but at least you can call them to negotiate better rates. Use some of the credit card offers to help negotiate a better rate. - or more a month on ,000 balance

9 - Carpooling/Telecommuting/Bike or Walk to work - All these options can equate to saving a weekly tank of gas, reduce wear and tear, and decrease potential maintenance costs.

10 - Cell versus home phone. Decide which is needed more and eliminate the other. If you can, I would consider eliminating the home phone because there are cheaper options like Skype for home telephone services. And if your phone company won't give you Internet access without having local phone, give high-speed cable from your cable company a try. For the light computer users, trying going to a free WiFi area or the library, and get connected there.

11 - Ask the boss to go corporate casual or just casual. Wearing casual clothes may not only be more durable and last longer, but you can also skip the pricey dry cleaning bill

12 - Cancel Memberships. If you have gym memberships you don't use or memberships to organizations you don't go to, cancel them. Unless you use these types of memberships weekly and it helps you to focus or acts as a personal getaway, take the opportunity to consider alternatives, like jogging, biking, etc.

13 - Storage Facility? Do you have a storage facility that you use for your junk? Sell it and then cancel the storage unit. A recent WSJ article says people who use a facility with short-term intentions end up keeping them for 5 years. 0 month

14 - House cleaning/pool service/lawn service/pest control. Can you do any of these services on your own? Borrow a lawn mower or pool brush from your neighbor if you have too. or more a month

15 - Sell your stuff. Unless it may be super valuable for eBay, have a garage sale or post your items on Craigslist. Sure you won't get top dollar in this environment, but you may something

16 - Rent out a room. There are plenty of folks who need a simple place to stay, and renting out a room maybe a good short-term way to raise money. But before you do, I highly recommend preparing a few hurdles for any prospective tenant like a criminal check, a credit check and a rental history check, along with reading a few good books on renting out to a tenant or calling a licensed real estate agent for help. Without the right preparation and legal documents, this too becomes a legal or financial nightmare.

17 - Renegotiate your mortgage. You may or may not have any money you can refinance, but you can definitely talk to your bank or a mortgage broker about lowering your rate. Although you may incur additional costs, a lower rate may offset them if you can get a significant drop in your rate.

18 - Private versus Public School. If you are paying monthly for private school, you can either put your kid in public school or renegotiate a lower tuition based on your changing financial situation

19 - Beer/Colas/Coffees. These beverage items are the real cost killer when you add it up. Your lattes, beer or twice a day soda or bottled waters add up to 0 a month alone. Tap water is free and healthier for you.

20 - Use coupons. As goofy and "grandma" as it sounds, clipping coupons still works. Sunday newspapers or popular coupon sites are still great sources for coupons.

21 - Change you supermarket. As recent Wall Street Journal article compared several well-known supermarkets chains to a Wal-Mart Supercenter on the exact same food items, and found Wal-Mart to be significantly cheaper. Savings: or more on full grocery shop.

22 - Haircuts. While Supercuts and Hair Cuttery are a great start for cheap haircuts, I can usually find a local barber charging even less. Since they don't need to pay royalty fees or franchise fees, they can charge a few bucks less. If you are brave enough to do it on your own, go for it.

23 - Dog food. It may be tempting to go for the cheaper brand, but changing a dog's diet is not healthy for them. Instead, buy the "Costco" size and store in a cool, dry and bug free place.

24 - Pet Medications. I use heartworm and flea medication every month for my dog, Rudy. I order from an Australian company, Petshed.com. They are cheaper for the flea medication and they also offer a generic medication for heartworm prevention. Here are also other things you can do for Fido.

25 - Skip Lotto. In tough times, more people play the lotto lowering your odds of winning, which is pretty low to begin with. If you must, once is enough.

26 - Dental Care. Teeth cleanings are a must, especially if I have to look at you. But taking properly taking care of your teeth will help to keep future costs and recommended visits down. Keep in mind; most times cleaning are done by the hygienist, not the dentist, so your costs shouldn't be more than . I can usually find some specials in the local paper.

27 - Gift cards or cash, instead of gifts. Give a gift card instead of a gift, or better yet, give cash and avoid the transaction fee. You will keep yourself from spending more than you should. If you do decide to buy a gift card, make sure the gift cards aren't store specific either. While Uncle Fred loves Home Depot, he may need to pay some bills or get food instead.

28 - Canceling certain newspapers. Think about canceling the daily paper, and just have the Sunday paper delivered. The Sunday newspaper can be a goldmine for coupons, and use the online version for the rest of the week.

29 - Downsize the department store. Target, Wal-Mart and other stores can offer substantial savings to those who are in need of clothes. You would be surprised what great stuff they have, but pay attention to those return policies. Goodwill or other consignment shops can also provide some valuable treasures. But, purchase only what you need. Cheap doesn't mean free for all.

30 - Spend time with the kids. If you don't spend time with the kids, they will want to spend time with their friends at the mall spending your money.

31 - Washer/Dryer. Use cold only for washing clothes, and hang dry what you can. The hot water and the dryer can get pretty expensive to run.

32 - Electronics. Shut down your computer and unplug electronics when they are not in use. Surprisingly, electronics still drain electricity even when they are off. This includes cell phone chargers, too.

33 - Car Repairs. Having to repair your car when you are already tight on money is no fun. Here are some things I have done to bring down the cost: (1) most mechanics will offer a free diagnostic, (2) call at least 3 other mechanics with the specifics of the problem and ask for a quote on the labor (you'd be surprised the difference in price), (3) ask about using after market parts or bring your own parts and (4) don't be forced into doing something you don't want.

34 - Be aware of ATM fees. A recent trip to an ATM machine costs , plus what my bank charges me. Fortunately, I use a discount broker that covers this cost on both ends. If you are not so lucky, find convenient banks to where you normally get funds or just draw out a little more than usual and keep most hidden at home. Replenish as needed.

35 - Pricing out gas. Be cognizant of the differences in gas prices. While a penny may not make a difference, 20 cents for a 20 gallon tank saves every time. Use Costco, Wal-Mart, and sites like Gas Price Watch to help spot the lowest cost stations.

36 - Need to do some traveling? Use price aggregators sites like Kayak or Trax.com (my favorite) to find lower fares for flights, hotels and car rentals.

37 - Negotiate. When was the last time you tried to negotiate on price? Start with smaller objects, and graduate to hotel rooms and other services or products you buy. If you talk to the right person, you can negotiate almost anything.

38 - Watch the "stupid" fees. These can come from returning videos late to overdrawing your balance to overdue books. Take a moment to figure out what you normally do wrong to cause fees and setup a simple system like using "Post Its" to correct your habits.

39 - Stop the Catalogs. Junk mail, like catalogs, can entice even the ever meager into a full-blown impulse purchase; get rid of the temptations.

40 - Quite Smoking. What a great reason to kick the habit! It costs too much, and your insurance premiums go up because of it.

41 - Re-examine last year's taxes. If you have the time and gumption, there may have been a few deductions you may have missed. If they are large enough, the government may owe you money.

42 - Walk-In Clinic. For less serious emergencies or injuries, a Walk-In Clinic may offer the same service as a hospital with less cost. But first, see what the local clinic is able to do and not do. Then, take notice of their hours of operation so when an emergency comes up, you can make the right choice. Some pharmacy chains like CVS now have nurse practitioners who can diagnose and prescribe, at lower rates.

43 - Challenge your property assessment. Since the values of homes have gone down in the last few years, you may be able to challenge the city or county on your property taxes. Do some research to see if this is plausible, and then contact your municipality. Weigh your options.

44 - Moving can be a headache, but it doesn't have to be expensive. You may want to consider alternatives like U-Haul, Penske or Budget Truck. Call all three and negotiate between them. Once a quote is secured, contact a local personnel service that specializes in manual labor to help with the move.

45 - Re-shop for car insurance and homeowner's insurance. Consider switching carriers. I switched to Geico and didn't have to change my deductible at all. I saved a month. In addition, talk to your agent about alternatives to your current homeowner's insurance.

46 - Larger grocery shops. Going to the grocery store once or twice a month will force you to buy only what you need and reduce your urge for impulse buys (outside of dairy, of course). Always make a list before you go.

47 - Use the library. Depending on your location, this can be a great place for books, DVDs and CDs. Some smaller libraries are able to broaden their reach and thereby your selection with other regional libraries. Keep that in mind to find more of what your want.

48 - Go on a diet. I am not talking about joining an expensive diet program, but check a few books out of the library and educate yourself. Diets usually mean less costly food, or sometimes just less food consumption in general, which translates to less out of your pocket.

49 - If you must buy something, use a site that compares prices, like Pricegrabber, Pricescan, Bizrate, Nextag, Shopping.com, eBay and Froogle. One neat site I like is Priceprotectr.com. This site helps you make sure you made a great deal by informing you if your item drops in price up to 30 days after purchase. Price adjustments are good not only for online items, but brick and motor retailers often offer adjustments for many items they sell like clothes or tools for a limited period of time.

50 - Try to fix it yourself first. I never started out being great a something, like fixing the computer, changing the spark plugs, or a number of other things I picked up along the way. But I surprise myself when I first learn how to do these things from a "How To" book or YouTube video. Obviously, you want to start small and simple to help build your skills and confidence. Whenever an opportunity presents itself, always take a moment to consider the possibility.

Can you think you of anything (outside of selling your house or car) that can save you money right away? Please let me know so I can grow the list. And if you have saved some money from some things on this list, let me know as well.

Supersets & Drop Sets for Fat Loss & Muscle Gain

For our purposes here, a superset is the completion of consecutive sets without a rest. The sets can be for exercises of the same, opposite or completely unrelated muscle groups. When performing supersets for opposing or unrelated muscle groups, there is an opportunity for one muscle to recover while another is worked, therefore allowing a heavy weight to be used for both exercises.

supercuts

Because minimal rest is prescribed, try to arrange for exercises that can be performed within a close proximity of one another (i.e. a flat DB press and a One-arm DB row). Training opposing muscle groups in this manner ensures the development of balanced muscular strength. You can design an entire workout using multiple supersets OR you can add a superset at any point in the workout (i.e. such as the transition from chest to back).

SUPER CUTS

An example of opposing muscle groups is the chest & back. Pick a back exercise that pulls the arms into the torso (a row) and balance that with an exercise that pushes away from the torso (flat DB press). You can also use supersets for the anterior and posterior heads of the deltoids (shoulders) which somewhat oppose one another.

An example exercise combination would be a front DB raise followed by a bent-over DB raise. Muscles of shoulder extension (lats) can be super-setted with the antagonistic shoulder flexors (deltoids) using a pulldown-shoulder press combination. And finally, for the ultimate arm superset, choose one triceps exercise and follow it with an exercise for biceps.

Supersets can also be performed using 2 successive exercises for the same bodypart. This has been referred to as "pre-exhaustion", where an isolation exercise is performed for a muscle group (i.e. a DB fly for the chest) followed by a compound exercise for the same muscle group (i.e. a bench press). The second exercise will be performed using a lighter weight than is normally used because the muscle group will have been previously fatigued.

A second superset method for the same muscle group is referred to as "drop-setting". In this technique, a set of an exercise is performed to failure at which time the trainee reduces the weight and performs subsequent repetitions with the lighter weight.

****A note on "drop-sets" and "muscle pumps"...

If the development of maximal strength OR size is your goal, these techniques are not mandatory for success. Let me explain:

First, a muscle "pump" is simply the result of blood and tissue fluid being forced into the muscle from the surrounding vessels and then accumulating within the muscle. While an increased blood flow to the area is beneficial, the pump lasts only for a short time (30-60 minutes). Unfortunately, this is too short of a time period to result in any significant physiological changes to the muscle, as growth and repair occur over a 24 to 48 hour (or more) time period following exercise.

Therefore, we should not focus our training time on achieving this "pump", although with training of the proper intensity, it will occur regardless. Most individuals desire the pump and if they do not achieve it, they feel as if the workout has been poor, however this is not the case. It is much more important to train at a proper intensity and with proper technique.

The "drop-set" method will not be effective if the training goal is maximal size and strength. While decreasing the weight to allow for more repetitions may provide a "burning" sensation within the muscle, the actual stimulus on the muscle fibers will be much less in comparison to a "regular" set (performed after a sufficient recovery interval).

Most physiologists agree that muscle appears to grow in response to a stress of sufficient intensity and duration. Therefore, by sticking to heavier weights and adequate rest intervals, the trainee can apply a greater stress in comparison to the "drop-sets" technique. The lighter weights used in a superset probably do not optimally stimulate the muscle at the level necessary to produce growth and strength adaptations in the muscle fibers.

Finally, the use of "drop-sets" may be detrimental in the effects that this technique has on energy reserves. The "drop-set" technique may rob the trainee of valuable energy that would be better spent in the performance of a regular set (a set at a higher intensity). Secondly, the "drop-set" technique may require additional calories to fuel the contractions, and this may then require a greater caloric intake on the part of the trainee in order to gain muscle mass, although this may not be significant. One thing in the favor of drop-sets is time efficiency because you can get a lot done in a very short time.

Therefore, the drop-set method does not appear optimal for acquiring both strength and size. You are best off to keep your training techniques plain and simple (heavy weights, moderate repetitions), unless a plateau in performance suggests otherwise. Overcoming a plateau may require more advanced techniques and program design that should be based solely on the individual, not through general recommendations.

Weight Loss Wars- Circuit Training vs. Supersets

I've always believed supersets are best for fat burning, but strength coach John Barban is telling me I'm wrong! John recommends "6 Minute Circuits" for women for weight loss, so I grilled him about the methods and why his way is supposedly better than mine.

Like me, John is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, and a varsity strength and conditioning coach (like I used to be).

SUPER CUTS

John specializes in training female varsity athletes, specifically women's ice hockey players, and has his masters in nutritional science and human physiology from the University of Guelph.

CB: John, why circuits instead of supersets or straight sets

JB:
We found multiple benefits using the the mini circuits with this workout.

For starters they target the whole body within each circuit. I designed each mini circuit to hit all of the major muscle groups in the body.

This has two effects:

1) it gets your heart rate up for the entire mini circuit which will rev up your metabolism and start burning lots of calories and fat. This style of workout eliminates the need to do long slow traditional cardio, and believe or not burns more calories than a typical cardio workout could!

2) It works all of the major muscle groups in your body so you get a whole body conditioning and toning effect in each mini circuit.

Those are just the actual physical and metabolic benefits which are fantastic.

The other major benefit is variety. The mini circuits we use are constantly changing and incorporating different exercises and variations. They are fun to do and keep the workout fresh.

This is a benefit that I was not anticipating but all the women who do this exercise always mention how much fun it is and how different it is from anything else they've ever done.

CB: What kind of results do your clients get?

JB:
My clients are losing weight, and more specifically fat faster than they ever have before.

I'd say that everyone who has started this program has easily accelerated their progress by weeks if not months. the pounds are coming off of my non athlete clients in record time and our athletes are going to be ready for their season way ahead of schedule.

Its doing exactly what I designed it to do; its getting everyone lean and in great cardiovascular and overall condition all at once!

CB: What type of clients do you use this with?

JB:
The 6 Minute Circuits Workout was designed from the principles I use to train all of my elite level athletes.

We started using it with the girls on the team as well as other individual athletes (I train fitness competitors, figure models, as well as individual sport players of all kinds)

It was getting them all in peak mid season shape faster than any other program we had ever used, which made me happy and the girls were excstatic.

And thats when some of my non athlete clients who saw what I was doing with the team in the gym asked what they were doing and wanted to try it...

And then it hit me, what not just train all of my clients like elite level athletes...after all the girls on the team and my other athlete clients had the type of figure that my non athlete clients were dying to get. So they naturally wanted to train just like those girls trained.

I immediately put all of my clients on this workout and the results are speaking for themselves.

All of my clients athletes, non athletes, busy working mom's, young professionals, women who workout at home, beginners, and seasoned gym goers have all switched with great results.

CB: Where can these workouts be done?

JB:
The entire workout can be done at home.

I designed it this way on purpose. And the types of exercises that we found work best don't require fancy gym equipment anyway, so it really doesn't matter where you like to workout you can do this workout anywhere with minimal equipment.

A set of dumbbells (and if you don't have dumbbells at home you could even use a couple cans of soup to start with) and a stability ball is all you really need.

A bench is nice to have, but if you workout at home and don't have a bench you can substituite a stability ball, and if you don't have that you can use the furniture around your house for almost every exercise that we use a bench for.

I've trained clients in their homes with this workout and its easy to get it done just about anywhere with almost no equipment.

GSX - The Buick Super Car

I'm going to chat about the 1970 Buick GSX, this was a very special car, with it's 455 CID Buick big block, that was pumping out an amazing 510 FTLB of torque, which by the way, held the record for the most torque in an American car until 1992, when the Dodge Viper stole it's glory, but the Viper is a special car, it's not as if we could all own a Viper, but we could all own a Buick GSX, now you may think Buick "That's a grandma car" but you'd be wrong, oh so wrong.

Many a races were lost to this car due to a lack of respect, a lot of people were fooled by the name on these cars, but make no mistake, this car was fully capable of beating any car on the road during the muscle car era, a lot of people took these cars lightly, and paid a heavy price of their disrespect, there were 678 Buick GSX super cars manufactured in 1970, there were 187 Apollo white GSX Buick's built, and 491 Saturn yellow ones.

SUPER CUTS PRICES

The GSX sported a hood mounted tach; 3.42:1 rear gear ratio; G60-15 "billboard" Wide-Oval tires; a special front stabilizer bar; and a rear spoiler, the GSX also came with a 4 speed gear box, and a Hurst shifter, the cars also had a special graphics kit installed from the factory, which included two racing stripes running over the hood and deck lid of the car, and a thin stripe running down both sides of the car.

The Buick GSX was nothing to laugh at, this car could put you in your place, fully capable of providing your with a heart-attack style ride, this car was not for the weak of heart, it was most certainly not a grandma car.

GSX - The Buick Super Car

I've been in the automotive business for about 20 or 25 years, I have worked in all facets of the industry, from parts to restoration, all different makes and models, I just want to keep people interested in the old cars because it's where my heart is.

How to throw a Left hook and a Right uppercut

The Left hook and the right uppercut from an Orthodox stance

supercuts

LEFT HOOK

SUPER CUTS

The left hook is technically one of the most difficult punches to learn, but if correctly executed it can be a powerful weapon , whether used at medium to full range, to the head or body.

The punch starts with a weight transfer to the left side, the left elbow is brought up almost parallel to the floor so that the arm forms a sort of hook shape ; your left palm should be facing downwards, at the same time, pivot on the ball of your left foot, left heel facing outwards, your left leg and torso turning sharply to the right. Hit through the target.
Note that the arm does not move independently, it is powered by the leg, hips and back in a twisting motion.

The hook is a difficult punch to defend against because it is thrown from outside the line of your opponents vision.
When throwing the left hook, remember to keep your right hand up and recover your left hand back to guard.

RIGHT UPPERCUT

The uppercut is a very useful close/medium range punch. It is delivered straight up inside your opponent's guard.
The uppercut is also a favoured punch for a tall fighter against a much smaller crouching opponent.
At medium range the uppercut can be a devastating counter punch.

Transfer your weight slightly to your right hand side, dip your knees slightly so your right elbow nears your hip, rotate your fist (palm facing yourself), without cocking your arm back, propel the punch upwards by twisting your torso ( right side of your body), accelerate, contact and recover to guard.

Care must be taken not to "telegraph" the punch.

Note for southpaws
If you are left handed or prefer to box with the right foot forward, reverse the instructions where applicable.

Keep practising and remember UK Boxing store supply quality boxing gloves and boxing equipment.

Scene Hair is the Hot New Trend

You may have heard about a group of people who call themselves "Scene." This group spends a lot of time at shows and on the social networking sites such as MySpace and Facebook. On trait that makes this group very recognizable is their hair. For both guys and girls it usually consist of choppy, layered, jet black (sometimes blonde for girls) hair that often features streaks of bright neon colors.

supercuts

This hairstyle is very similar to emo hair, but the group will take offense if you call it such. Scene hair has it's foundations in emo, punk, and hardcore but takes it to a more fashion conscious level. Instead of being emotional and anti-social, the scene crowd is happy go lucky and self confident. The trend is even becoming popular among celebrities, especially those in the music industry.

SUPER CUTS

If you want to get scene hair it is better to go see a hairstylist who has a lot of experience with the cut. If you go to a Supercuts or a Barber they will have no idea how to get the look you want. While it may look messy and unconventional, it is actually quite complex. That means if you try to do it yourself there is a big chance that you will screw up. Let someone who knows what they are doing take care of you, especially if you have no experience cutting your hair.

Accessories are the key to tying the whole look together, for both girls and guys. Girls can wear colorful headbands or hair clips, while guys can use hats and hoodies.

It is important that you try to get a look that is unique to you. It is a good idea to use someone else's style as the framework for yours, but you never want to directly copy someone else's. This will get you labeled as a poser, especially if you copy a celebrity or one of the more popular people in your group. The colored streaks and accessories are the easiest way to get a unique look, so have some fun with them.

How to Get a Striking Hairstyle With Hair Highlights and Hair Color

Ever thought about getting hair color or if you already get hair color, there is no better way to dramatically or subtly change a haircut and hair color then creatively blending in hair highlights and/or hair lowlights to accent your hairstyle.

There are wide-variety of hair coloring techniques and hair foiling techniques, but there is a right way to coloring hair and a wrong way to coloring hair. This is where choosing the right hair salon and hairdresser to get the change that you desire will play a critical role in the process.

SUPER CUTS PRICES

Let's just say that not all hair salons and hairdressers are created equally. Many people think that the price they pay for their hair care needs will determine the quality of the hairdresser and service they choose. It's just like everything else in life... some are at the top of the class and some are at the bottom of the class.

Let me take this a step further! You can go to a high-end hair salon, pay a lot of money and leave with an undesirable result. You can also go to a low-end to middle-end hair salon like, The Hair Cuttery, Supercuts or Great Clips, pay a reasonable price and leave with exactly what you wanted.

So how do you choose the right path to get that Striking Hairstyle and Hair Color? Well there are a lot factors to consider, but the simple answer is that it all begins with a Personalized Client Consultation with your current or new hairdresser.

Start out by doing prior research looking through magazines or surfing the internet to find options that you can present at the time of your consultation. Print out pictures or bring magazine pages of your favorite celebrities, so you can visually explain exactly what type of haircut, hair color and hairstyle you are trying to achieve.

Think of this consultation as an interview with your hairdresser, you being the interviewer, but let them lead most of the time. It is important that you establish a mutual rapport. They should ask you simple direct questions such as. Do you have anything specific in mind? What don't you like about your hair color and why? Tell me a little about your lifestyle. Do you work? Does your work require you to travel? Do you consider yourself conservative? You get the picture!

Your hairdresser should confidently discuss each step of the process, including prices and they should put you at ease that they have the experience and expertise to accomplish the work.

Once you feel comfortable that they understand what you want and professionally describe exactly how they are going to creative a special personalized look just for you... you will have cleared a major hurtle in getting that fantastic head-turning new look you desire.
